Honestly, can’t believe I have to say this. We just had 40 fireworks going off at 2:15 AM on a Tuesday from the new halal butcher’s parking lot. Not one, not two, but **forty**. In a residential zone. For Eid Mubarak 2026 – which I *get*, it’s a big celebration, but COMMON SENSE says you don’t wake up every shift worker, baby, and dog in a three-block radius.

I called the non-emergency line. They said “it’s a religious exemption under the noise by-law for major festivals.” Right. So now my kid’s still screaming at 3 AM because they thought it was a home invasion, and the neighbour’s cat is missing.

We all respect the holiday. We do. But “Eid Mubarak” isn’t a free pass to act like GTA Online at 2 in the morning. If you want to celebrate, fine – do it at the community centre field, not in the alley behind my fence. **Use your head, people.** This isn’t about culture, it’s about basic respect for everyone else living here.
