This so-called “Mina the Hollower” has been roaming the alleys behind the old gas station, just… hollowing things. My neighbor’s garden gnome? Hollowed out. The kids’ plastic playset? Hollowed. Even poor Mrs. Henderson’s prize-winning pumpkin – hollowed right down to the rind.

The cops keep saying they’re “investigating patterns.” It’s common sense, people! Lock up your hollowables! Board up your birdhouses! I saw her myself last night – a gaunt figure in a stained raincoat, just staring at my mailbox like she was waiting for it to confess something. She didn’t even flinch when I yelled.
