Local Council Spends £40,000 of Taxpayer Stake on ‘Inclusive’ Bus Shelter Art Project That No One Asked For
What a complete waste of common sense. Just saw the council’s press release about their brand new “interactive art installation” at the town centre bus shelter. They’ve splashed out forty grand of our money on some colourful panels and a digital screen that plays static. Meanwhile, the potholes on Station Road are deep enough to swallow a Mini. Who thought this was a good use of our community stake? I asked three people waiting for the 7A if they liked the new art. One said it was “confusing,” another said it makes the shelter smell like paint thinner in the rain, and the third just shrugged. We’ve got kids walking to school past broken pavements and pensioners slipping on cracked kerbs, but sure, let’s make the bus stop “vibey.” Total nonsense. Sort the basics first.
