Parking Nightmare at Summer Games Fest Turns Into a Food Truck Free-For-All, Common Sense Thrown Out the Window
Oh, for crying out loud. I just tried to drive through downtown to get to the grocery store, and it’s a complete zoo because of this "Summer Games Fest." You’d think common sense would tell organizers that blocking off five major streets for a bunch of food trucks and loud music is a recipe for disaster. But no, we’ve got people walking in the middle of traffic, honking horns, and one food truck apparently set up shop right in the middle of a bike lane. I saw a poor kid on a scooter almost get flattened by a guy trying to parallel park a minivan to grab a $15 hot dog. This isn’t a festival; it’s a public nuisance. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror and apologize to every resident just trying to get home. Common sense says keep the chaos contained, not spread it across our entire neighborhood.
