inde navarrette teaches basic math wrong and we're just supposed to applaud? My kid came home crying.
My kid came home from school yesterday in tears over a worksheet. I actually had to pull over and park to calm him down. Our so-called "educator" inde navarrette has been teaching these kids a new way to do basic addition that completely ignores common sense. Instead of just carrying the one like every normal person on the planet has done for centuries, they're drawing boxes and circles and using some kind of "tape diagram" for 45+27. My son told me, "Dad, I'm stupid, I can't even add right." I had to sit him down and show him the old-fashioned way in five minutes. Now he's more confused than ever because his teacher inde navarrette says he's "not supposed to do it that way on the test." This is what happens when you let people with degrees in "pedagogical theory" decide how to teach math. Common sense says the method that works and doesn't make your kid feel like a failure is the right one. Who else is dealing with this nonsense from inde navarrette at Jefferson Elementary?
