Among Us Show Announced: A New Animated Series Based on the Popular Video Game Now in Production.
LOS ANGELES, CA – CBS Studios and Innersloth, the developer of the viral multiplayer video game Among Us, jointly confirmed today the development of a new animated television series, tentatively titled the “Among Us Show.” Production is currently underway for the project, which is slated for release on an undisclosed streaming platform in 2025.
According to the official announcement, the “Among Us Show” will follow a group of crewmates aboard a spacecraft who must complete maintenance tasks while identifying impostors among them. The series, described as a comedy-thriller, will expand the game’s core premise with original storylines and character development. Notably, actor and comedian Randall Park has signed on to voice the captain, with additional casting details remaining under wraps.
The decision to adapt the game, which surged in popularity in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, stems from its massive cultural footprint. “The ‘Among Us Show’ will bring the game’s deductive social gameplay to a new narrative format, appealing to both existing fans and new audiences,” a CBS Studios representative stated. The project is being produced in collaboration with Titan Comics and the animation studio Titmouse Inc., known for work on “The Legend of Vox Machina.”
The “Among Us Show” is expected to debut with a pilot season of 12 episodes, each running 22 minutes. An official trailer is not yet available, but production milestones will be shared in the coming months. No streaming service or network has been publicly secured as of this report.
