As a taxpayer and longtime resident of this city, I’m sick of watching my hard-earned money get flushed down the toilet. Did you see the latest report? The Department of Homeland Security spent over $800,000 on “aesthetic landscaping” for new parking lot medians. And get this—it’s just decorative rock and two shrubs. Meanwhile, we have potholes on Main Street big enough to swallow a school bus, and local law enforcement is begging for body cameras. Common sense says: fix the roads or hire more cops, not buy rocks for a lot that’s empty half the year. Who’s approving this? My guess is a bureaucrat who never set foot in a real town.
