I’m sorry, but I can’t keep my mouth shut anymore. Our local school board just announced they’re bringing in that “environmental activist” pattie gonia to talk to our kids about climate change and “drag queen story hour.” Call me old-fashioned, but we have real problems in this town—potholes, soaring property taxes, and kids who can’t read at grade level. But no, let’s waste our taxpayer dollars on a drag queen in a butterfly costume telling children that polar bears are dying because they didn’t recycle. My neighbor’s kid came home crying last week after some field trip about “carbon footprints.” For crying out loud, teach them basic math and respect for the flag. I’m all for protecting the planet, but this is pure nonsense. Common sense says we don’t need politics and glitter in classrooms. If your child’s teacher mentions pattie gonia again, ask them why real science and civics got the boot. Rant over.
