Local Man Actually Reads His Mortgage Statement, Realizes Interest Is Not a Seasonal Fluctuation
I’m sorry, but are we all just going to pretend that paying $3,200 a month in interest on a $400,000 house is “normal”? I finally sat down with my calculator and a cup of coffee this morning, and I realized that at the current mortgage loan interest rate, I’m basically renting my own house from the bank for the next 25 years. We need some common sense here. Back in 2021, everyone was screaming “buy now or be priced out forever!” Now I’m priced into a corner with a 7.2% rate and a payment that goes up every time the wind blows. Tell me again how this is good for the working family?
