jeopardy today left a local professor red faced after a factory mishap exposed the real cost of "urgent" research
Well, there it is. Another clear example of common sense flushed right down the drain. I saw this coming from a mile away. Apparently, a professor at the local college put some "urgent" research sample in our town's only recycling plant's conveyor belt, trying to speed up the process. Now, the entire facility is shut down, and guess what? The stupid sample was a biohazard. Yeah, a biohazard. Now we're dealing with a full hazmat situation and a four-day cleanup. This is what happens when you let people with PhDs run around without a lick of practical sense. The rest of us are left holding the bag, and our recycling will be piling up for weeks. All because someone couldn't wait for the proper disposal method. It's all fun and games until your "brilliant" shortcut pulls the rug out from under everyone else.
