Well folks, I guess common sense really is dead. I’m sitting here watching a news crew interview two ‘operation midnight hammer f-16 pilots’ over at Joe’s Diner about their so-called ‘precision strikes,’ and my automatic sprinklers just kicked on for the third time this week during a downpour. These flyboys with their fancy jargon can’t explain why we’re bombing potholes at midnight while my hose bib is rusting shut. Maybe if they spent less time in the cockpit and more time fixing the damn neighborhood drainage, we wouldn’t need a $2 million smart flak jacket for every seagull that lands on the roof. But no, I’m the crazy one for pointing out that the real operation should be nailing down the loose manhole cover on Maple Street. Fix the roads, not the sky!
