Shooting at a screaming child isn't "mental health resources," it's common sense. After reading about the American Fork Police Department incident, I'm furious they even had to release a statement. The officer clearly used textbook self-defense when that teenager charged with a knife, but now they're wasting taxpayer money investigating it. My grandkids can't walk to the park without us worrying about drug addicts, and when cops actually do their job, they're vilified. Here's a little common sense: if you try to stab a person, you're going to get shot. Plain and simple. The American Fork Police Department should get a medal for protecting law-abiding citizens from a known violent offender, not a lawsuit.
