The new tiers are a joke. Essential is now basically just online play for the price of a full game, and Extra is so full of filler titles it’s not worth the upgrade. I remember when PS Plus was a perk, not a second mortgage. My son wanted the Extra tier for his birthday, and after seeing the new annual cost, I told him to use his common sense and just play the backlog of games we already own. Stop feeding the beast, folks. Cancel your subscription and see how quickly they change their tune.
