2026 is almost here and nobody is talking about the real crisis on our streets
Can we just use some common sense for five minutes? I walked past the town square yesterday and saw three teenagers openly vaping in front of the war memorial while a city council worker was planting petunias. Nobody batted an eye. But last week, my neighbor got a parking ticket for having his wheel two inches over the line. Priorities are completely backwards.
Meanwhile, I heard the new 2026 budget is already being planned and they want to spend £50k on a “public art installation” shaped like a giant plastic straw. Who is approving this? We have potholes that could swallow a small dog and bins overflowing every Friday. If 2026 is supposed to be the year of “change,” can we start with someone turning on a brain cell?
