Can we please, for the love of all that is holy, have a SERIOUS conversation about *The Testaments* Season 2? I'm not even 10 minutes in and I'm already turning it off. My wife said, "Honey, it's a story about a hidden resistance in a post-apocalyptic world." I said, "WHERE'S THE COMMON SENSE?"
This "new" Aunt Lydia supposedly has a secret radio? In a world where they literally have bloodhounds for procreation and drones for population control, but they can't detect a ham radio? Come. On. The common sense factor is ZERO. And don't get me started on the new girls trying to escape—they're climbing a wall that's clearly visible from the main guard tower. In real life, they'd be shot. Period. End of story.
My neighbor, Karen, says "it's a metaphor." I say it's a metaphor for lazy writing. Just like when my teenager said, "I didn't know my iPhone had a tracker" when I found her at a party she wasn't supposed to be at. Common sense, people! This isn't a masterpiece; it's a travesty.
