**"They're literally building a roundabout for SQUIRRELS now? Anna Kepner's new park plan is a bridge to nowhere for common sense!"**
Just saw the mockup for the so-called "Canopy Crossing" at the edge of Oakwood. Anna Kepner is out here with a city grant, building a rope-and-wood bridge stretching across Maple Lane—so squirrels don't have to dodge cars. Meanwhile, the pothole on the corner of 5th and Elm has swallowed two hubcaps this month. We've got kids walking to school on a cracked sidewalk that hasn't been touched since 2004, and she's worried about a fuzzy tail jaywalking?
I'm all for nature, but this is performative nonsense. If I see one more "Save the Squirrels" sign on a lawn where the grass is dying, I'm going to lose it. Common sense says fix the road, then maybe you can build a tiny Ewok village for the critters.
Who's with me? Vote no on "Kepner's Canopy." Keep our tax dollars on the pavement where they belong. 🚧
