Okay, so like, TL;DR: I’m doomscrolling through TikTok, right, and I see this video about William Bumpus—you know, the 19th-century naturalist who shot like 700 birds to "study" their variation. The caption was all like, "He was a pioneer of evolutionary biology!" and I, in my infinite wisdom, comment: "Bro really said 'for science' just to commit genocide on sparrows. Chad move."
Anyway, now 47,000 people are in my mentions calling me a "soulless zoomer" who doesn't respect the scientific method. One guy said I'm "cancelling a man who died in 1916" as if I have a time machine.
