So there's a rumor floating around that Nintendo is cooking up something called Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, and the internet has collectively decided this is real, fake, or a psyop, depending on which Discord server you're in.
The name popped up in the usual places — trademark chatter, a sketchy 4chan post, a guy on Twitter with a Blue checkmark and zero sources.
Naturally, we're all treating it like gospel.
Let's be honest about how this always goes.
Remember when every Fire Emblem leak was "definitely Genealogy of the Holy War remake" for like six straight years?
We got Three Houses, Engage, and a mobile game that drains your wallet instead.
The Fortune's Weave thing has the same energy: a cool-sounding title, zero screenshots, and a fanbase that would pre-order a napkin if it had a crest on it.
The "evidence" is hilarious if you squint.
A trademark filing that may or may not exist, an anonymous post claiming the game has a "weaving" mechanic where you literally braid fate, and someone's uncle who works at Nintendo (he doesn't).
Reddit has already written 40,000 words of fanfiction about it.
Here's the thing though — Fire Emblem is due for something.
Engage was fun but felt like a Saturday morning cartoon with permadeath.
Three Houses was a dating sim that occasionally had war crimes.
The series thrives on reinvention, and "Fortune's Weave" sounds exactly like the kind of title Nintendo slaps on a game where you manipulate time, fate, or both.
It also sounds like every JRPG subtitle from 2006.
The real question isn't whether it's real.
Every Direct, we sit there like dogs waiting for a treat, and Nintendo throws us a Mario sticker collection and a remaster of a game nobody asked for.
Then the leakers say "next time, for sure," and we believe them.
