TOKYO, JAPAN — Bandai Namco Entertainment officially announced Tuesday that the next flagship entry in the Gundam franchise will be titled Gundam Rogue Orbit, a new multimedia project set to launch across anime, manga, and gaming platforms. According to the official press release, Gundam Rogue Orbit is a standalone narrative set in a new timeline, following a rogue mobile suit pilot who operates outside sanctioned military structure in a contested orbital ring around Earth. The project’s director, Kōhei Tanaka, stated that the story explores themes of autonomy and loyalty against the backdrop of geopolitical collapse. Industry analysts project the release window for the first anime installment to be late 2025, with a linked video game adaptation currently in development for major consoles. Production is co-managed by Sunrise Studio and the Gundam Metaverse Division, with global streaming rights pending negotiations.
