Just saw a video of a guy on Lake Michigan casually walking out onto the ice, only to have a sheet crack off and float him out to open water. The rescue team had to come get him, and the comments are full of people saying "oh, the currents are unpredictable." Unpredictable? It's the Great Lakes, folks. It's common sense.
