As a lifelong resident, I’m watching the "great lakes" ice coverage predictions roll in and I have to say—this is ridiculous. My neighbor just panic-bought three pallets of salt and a snowblower because the forecast says Lake Erie might freeze over. Common sense says we live in Michigan; it gets cold every single year. Why does every winter have to turn into a survivalist shopping spree? Maybe next time, people should look out their window instead of at a viral weather model. Save some salt for the rest of us.
