The TMNT video game fans have been waiting for is finally revealed, and it’s darker than anything you’ve seen before.
- A bloody, mature take on the classic heroes. This isn't a kids' game. Based on the acclaimed IDW comic series, The Last Ronin game follows the sole surviving Turtle in a dystopian New York City. Expect visceral combat, emotional storytelling, and an R-rated tone that stays true to the source material.
- It’s a single-player action RPG, not a beat ’em up. While you can switch between four weapons (katanas, sais, nunchucks, and a staff) that each have unique skill trees, this is a solo journey. No four-player co-op here—this is about isolation and a personal quest for vengeance.
- The combat system is inspired by God of War and Sekiro. The developers at Black Forest Games are aiming for a fluid, heavy-hitting combat system that mixes parries, finishers, and environmental kills with a deep upgrade system. Every fight is meant to feel desperate.
- A fully realized, ruined New York City to explore. The world is a hub-based, semi-open map. Landmarks like a flooded, graffitied Central Park and a fallen Empire State Building serve as battlegrounds, filled with hostile factions and hidden Shredder Clan lore collectibles.
- A confirmed release window, but not a date yet. The game is officially set to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A current-gen-only release means no loading times or graphical compromises, letting the gritty, rain-slicked art style shine at its best.
