So the city council just voted 4-3 to tear down the entire downtown parking garage rather than trim a scraggly old oak tree that’s been leaning for years. They claim the tree has some kind of ‘stake’ in the community’s heritage. Meanwhile, local businesses are furious because now nobody can park within three blocks to buy bread and milk.
