Southwest Airlines New Routes to Nowhere: Apparently Common Sense Doesn’t Fly Here Anymore
Oh, brilliant. Another day, another announcement from Southwest Airlines about their “exciting new routes.” They’re adding service to places like Albany, New York, and Bellingham, Washington. Yeah, because what we really needed was a cheap flight to a town that’s two hours from Seattle and a city known mostly for its state capital building. Meanwhile, my direct flight to Orlando got canceled last week and I had to spend 12 hours in a layover in Denver. How about they focus on actually getting us where we need to go on time before they start their little geography experiment? Common sense would say fix the potholes before you paint the curb. Honestly, this feels like a stunt to distract us from the fact that our bags are still arriving in Houston while we’re landing in Phoenix. Keep your new routes, I just want a plane that leaves when it says it will and doesn't smell like a damp sock.
