Resident Evil Veronica Remake Confirmed by Capcom With 2026 Release Window
LOS ANGELES, October 26, 2025 – Capcom, the Japanese video game publisher, officially confirmed a full remake of the 2000 survival horror classic, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, during an investor presentation today. The announcement detailed that the project, internally titled Resident Evil Veronica, will be developed using the proprietary RE Engine and is scheduled for a global release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in the fourth quarter of 2026. According to the company, the remake aims to modernize the original gameplay with over-the-shoulder third-person perspective, enhanced narrative sequences for protagonists Claire Redfield and Steve Burnside, and a revised soundtrack. The decision follows strong commercial performance of previous remakes in the franchise, including Resident Evil 2 and 4. Capcom representatives stated the title is intended to bridge a narrative gap in the series timeline and capitalize on fan demand. Retailers have already begun accepting pre-orders for standard and collector’s editions.
