Local Man Who Fell Into Lake Michigan While Taking A Selfie Is Shocked To Discover The Great Lakes Are, In Fact, Connected To The Ocean.
I’m sorry, but is basic geography really that hard? I saw the video of this guy on the news, sliding off a slippery rock at Sleeping Bear Dunes because he was too busy framing his shot. Then he’s clinging to a buoy, screaming for help like he’d fallen into the Mariana Trench. The rescue crew had to fish him out, and his first question to the reporter was, “I didn’t think the current could pull me out that fast. Are the Great Lakes really that dangerous?” Dangerous? They’re inland seas! Common sense says if it’s big enough to have its own tides and shipwrecks, it doesn’t care about your Instagram likes. Maybe we should bring back those 5th-grade geography tests and ban selfie sticks near any shoreline. Lord knows we don’t need another viral rescue video because someone forgot the Great Lakes are actual lakes with actual power.
