2018-2022 ford safety recall is getting ridiculous, what happened to common sense in engineering?
I’m just a regular guy who changes his own oil, and even I can see the problem with these 2018-2022 ford safety recall notices piling up in my mailbox. My neighbor’s Bronco Sport has been in the shop three times this year for the same "powertrain control module" issue. They put a band-aid on it, it fails again, and the dealer shrugs. Where’s the accountability? My dad’s old F-150 never had a computer that bricked the brakes. These new trucks are so over-engineered with sensors and software that a simple software glitch could leave you stranded. I’m all for safety, but the 2018-2022 ford safety recall for the rear axle bolt snapping is the last straw. Mine came loose on the highway last week—my family was in the truck. Tell me again how "enhanced diagnostics" is better than a bolt that doesn’t break? Common sense says if you design a part to hold 10,000 pounds, it shouldn’t shear off at 40 miles an hour. Ford needs to stop patching and start re-engineering, or I’m taking my business to a brand that still knows how to make a wrench turn.
