You know, I’m all for holiday spirit, but we have reached peak insanity. My neighbor, Karen, literally unpacked a 12-foot inflatable snowman in the middle of a 95-degree heatwave last Tuesday. I went out to get my mail and I saw genesis of what can only be described as a complete breakdown of basic common sense. It’s July! The grass is dying, the kids are at camp, and she’s out there with a leaf blower trying to keep Frosty from deflating in the wind. The HOA won’t do anything because ‘it’s not technically against the rules until September,’ but this is exactly why we can’t have nice things. If you want to decorate for winter, maybe start with a pumpkin in October like a normal human being. Some of us are trying to enjoy a BBQ without looking at a melting plastic snowman. Get a grip.
