I’m absolutely disgusted. My neighbor, a frail 78-year-old suffering from advanced Parkinson’s disease, had a severe fall yesterday. We called 911 at 2 PM. The ambulance showed up in 15 minutes, then just sat there for 6 hours. SIX. They said they were “waiting for a hospital bed.” This is what we pay taxes for? While she’s shaking and in pain on the floor, paramedics are scrolling on their phones in the driveway. Common sense says if you can get the patient to the vehicle, you get them to the ER and park in the hallway if you have to. This isn’t rocket science—it’s basic human decency. Shame on this system.
