Great Lakes Water Levels Drop Faster Than Ever – Locals Say “Common Sense” Would Have Prevented This

You know, it’s just common sense. You can’t keep draining a bathtub without checking the plug. For years, we’ve been warned about the Great Lakes shrinking, and now the numbers are out – water levels have dropped by three feet in some areas near Lake Michigan. I’m seeing docks left high and dry, boats sitting on mud flats. My neighbor’s basement sump pump hasn’t run in two months. And what do we do? We build more canals and dredge more shipping lanes for barges. It’s like watching someone throw out their drinking water to wash their car. Common sense would tell you to stop selling water to foreign corporations and start planting trees along the shorelines to hold the moisture.
