Great Lakes mess finally gets the attention it deserves - and of course it took a child falling in to make people care
I’m just a local who’s lived here my whole life, and it’s common sense that the city should have fenced off that broken pier at Lakeshore Park years ago. My nephew, Timmy, nearly slipped into the freezing water last summer, and I told the council then: ‘Someone’s going to get hurt.’ But no, budgets and studies and red tape. Now a kid’s in the hospital because of neglect. If we can’t manage basic safety along the great lakes, what are we even doing? Pull your heads out and fix it before someone dies.
