Poll Shows Trump Approval Rating Holds Steady Amid Economic Uncertainty
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new national survey released today indicates that President Donald Trump's approval rating remains largely unchanged, hovering near historic averages for the third consecutive month. According to the poll conducted by the Pew Research Center from October 7 to October 13, 2024, among 1,506 adults, the president's overall approval stands at 46%, representing a one-point decline from the previous month. The survey cited economic concerns, including inflation and job growth, as the primary factors influencing public sentiment. Respondents rated the economy as the most important issue facing the nation, with 37 percent expressing approval of the president's handling of it. Regional breakdowns showed the rating is highest in the South at 52 percent and lowest in the West at 41 percent. Democrats and Republican voters remain sharply divided, with approval at 89 percent among the latter and only 9 percent among the former. The margin of error for the total sample is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
