It’s a basic math issue, not a political one. So the government wants to 'fix' the social security funding shortfall by taxing our groceries via inflation, but they won’t fix the problem that everyone knows is bleeding the system dry. I’m talking about the millions of people collecting disability who are clearly able to work. I drive by the park every afternoon—it’s full of able-bodied adults playing basketball while the rest of us pay for their benefits. We need a dose of common sense here: stop paying people to be idle, and the social security funding shortfall disappears overnight.
