Y'all, I'm losing my mind. So Paramount and Skydance are apparently "merging" to create some "super-streaming" service. TL;DR: A bunch of execs got together, saw the 47th re-re-release of "Top Gun" on Netflix, and said, "If we buy the whole library, we can charge you $30/month for the privilege of watching 'Mission: Impossible' for the 80th time."

So AITA for thinking this is just a desperate attempt to stay relevant while they shove *another* ad tier down our throats? "Hey, remember when streaming was actually cheaper than cable? LOL, not anymore." Now we're getting "Paramount+ with Skydance: Now with 10% more endless reboots and 90% less original ideas."

This whole "paramount skydance merger streaming services" thing is the business equivalent of that friend who says "I'm gonna get my life together" and then buys a $5,000 espresso machine. We all know the endgame: a price hike, a "we've combined our content for your convenience" email, and somehow they'll still cancel "Lower Decks" for no reason.

Anyway, I'm off to torrent "The Offer" for the 100th time. Stay salty, reddit.
