Can we talk about common sense for a second? This new ny assembly parent law bill is a joke. I live on Maple Street and I've got three kids in the district, and no one asked me what I think. They want to "educate" my kids about stuff that's none of their business, but I have to sign a permission slip for a field trip? Where's the logic? I work 50 hours a week, I don't have time to read every new regulation Albany sneaks in at midnight. This isn't about protecting kids, it's about bypassing parents. If you don't want teachers playing social worker with your 8-year-old, speak up at the school board meeting Thursday. I'm bringing a printed copy of this nonsense to hand out.
