I just saw that Hollywood is green-lighting another big-budget adaptation of this ancient Greek epic, and I can already picture the computer-generated cyclops and Instagram-worthy special effects. Call me old-fashioned, but if the Odyssey movie can’t even stick to the original story without adding woke subplots or unnecessary romance, why bother? It’s common sense: we don’t need a $200 million spectacle to distract from the fact that our kids don’t know who Odysseus is in the first place. Maybe they should focus on teaching mythology in schools instead of turning it into a flashy money grab. One look at the trailer, and I bet they’ll make Circe a misunderstood feminist icon instead of the witch she actually is. Absolute nonsense.
