The Bear Sighted at State Capitol Prompts Evacuation of Legislative Session

A black bear, believed to be the same animal seen in multiple urban areas this week, entered the main rotunda of the State Capitol Building at approximately 10:35 AM local time, forcing an immediate evacuation of the legislative session. The bear, which was captured on security footage entering through a side loading dock, did not display aggressive behavior. Capitol Police and wildlife officials secured the perimeter and eventually guided the animal out through a rear exit. No injuries or property damage were reported. Authorities are now investigating the breach in security protocols.
