A senior data analyst at a Caribbean financial firm has accidentally stumbled upon what they are calling a 'glitch in the matrix' involving a century-old bank in Saint Kitts. According to an internal report obtained by this outlet, the account of a dormant luxury resort on the island has been receiving 666 unauthorized cents via a ghost-linked micro-transaction every hour, on the hour, since 2022. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, says the code is locked to a server file timestamped exactly one minute before the island’s last major hurricane. "It’s the weirdest coincidence I’ve ever seen in 15 years of auditing," they stated. The bank has locked the account, but the algorithm appears to be running indefinitely from a non-existent IP address. Locals are calling it the 'Saint Kitts phantom fee.'
