LOS ANGELES, CA — On Monday, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge sentenced Rebecca Grossman, a 60-year-old socialite and co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation, to 15 years to life in state prison for the 2020 deaths of two young brothers. The fatal crash occurred on September 29, 2020, in Westlake Village, when Grossman’s Mercedes-Benz SUV struck 11-year-old Mark Iskander and his 8-year-old brother Jacob as they crossed a street with their mother in a marked crosswalk. Prosecutors argued that Grossman was driving under the influence of alcohol and at speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour, though her defense claimed she was not intoxicated. Grossman was convicted in February 2024 of two counts of second-degree murder, two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, and one count of hit-and-run. The victims' family called the sentence just, while Grossman’s legal team vowed to appeal.
