My neighbor filed a noise complaint because my singing scared away the northern lights. AITA for telling him to get a life?
TL;DR: So I (28F) live in a high-rise in the city. Last night, I see this viral news about aurora borealis being visible due to solar storms, right? I climb to the roof with my Bluetooth speaker, start belting out "Total Eclipse of the Heart" to set the mood. My neighbor (45M) comes out screaming that my "off-key warbling" is causing light pollution and "scaring the northern lights away." He called the cops. Cops show up, I get a warning for "disturbing the peace." But fr, since when is being passionate and creating a "natural light show soundtrack" a crime? I think my interpretation of the night sky was just too emotionally deep for him. So, AITA?
