doodle for google 2026 competition opens for submissions with top prize of college scholarship
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thursday, March 27, 2026 – Google LLC officially announced the opening of its twenty-first annual Doodle for Google competition on Wednesday, March 26, 2026. The contest, themed “My Dream for Tomorrow,” invites K-12 students across the United States to redesign the Google logo for a 24-hour homepage display.
The competition is open to students in grades K-12, divided into five skill-based age groups. Participants must submit an original drawing of the Google logo that reflects their personal vision for the future. The national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school, and the privilege of having their artwork featured on the Google homepage for one day.
An independent panel of judges, including Google executives and guest artists, will evaluate entries based on artistic merit, creativity, and thematic relevance. Submissions are accepted through the official Doodle for Google website until Friday, April 25, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Last year’s competition, which saw over 100,000 entries, awarded the top prize to 17-year-old Maya Patel from Seattle, Washington, for her depiction of a sustainable city powered by renewable energy. Organizers expect a similar surge in participation for the 2026 edition.
“This contest empowers young artists to think critically about their role in shaping tomorrow,” said Google’s head of education partnerships in a press release. “We are eager to see the imaginative visions that students across the country will submit.”
