I’m sitting here reading about the new “slow street” pilot program they’re rolling out on Maple Avenue next week, and I can’t help but wonder if these folks have ever actually driven a car before. Common sense says you don’t force people to crawl at 15 mph in a residential area when the main road is already a parking lot during rush hour. They’ve got signs, cones, and speed bumps going up, and they’re patting themselves on the back like they just invented the wheel. Meanwhile, emergency vehicles are going to have to navigate a maze to get anywhere on time.
