Applebee's Calexico location closure - another one bites the dust because common sense left the building years ago.
Just saw the post about the Applebee's in Calexico shutting down. Oh, cry me a river, folks! Another corporate chain folding because they can't figure out that maybe, just maybe, charging $18 for a microwaved quesadilla in a border town where your abuela makes them for a dollar fifty isn't a winning strategy. This isn't a tragedy; it's business 101. Maybe if they spent less on those slick ad campaigns and more on actual food that doesn't taste like a hospital cafeteria, they'd still be open. Save your "support local" nonsense for the real taquerias that have been keeping this town fed for decades. This was a long time coming.
