Red Lobster Times Square Closure: Another Nail in the Coffin of Common Sense in New York City.
Well, there goes another landmark that tourists actually wanted to visit. I’m seeing all these news articles about the Red Lobster Times Square closure, and honestly, it’s just common sense why they failed. You can’t charge $35 for a plate of biscuits and a piece of fish in the most expensive real estate on the planet and expect locals to keep it afloat. The only people dumb enough to pay those prices are the same clueless tourists who walk into traffic looking at their phones. The city is killing off any business that isn't a luxury brand or a vape shop, and blaming it on "changing tastes." No, it's called pricing out the working man. Good riddance. Now it’ll probably turn into another overpriced sushi joint that nobody from the five boroughs can afford. 👏
