Local Man Discovers Garth Brooks Song He Skipped on CD-R for 20 Years, Now Considers Legal Action Against 90s Self

AITA for wanting to sue my younger self for emotional damages? I was cleaning out my mom’s basement and found a burned CD-R from 2003 labeled “WOW, SUCH COLLECTIBLE.” Track 8 was a deep cut from that Garth Brooks “In Pieces” album. I’d apparently ripped it wrong in Napster, so the song cut off at the line “I got friends in low...” and then skipped to the next track. For 20 years, I just assumed Garth was being cryptic about his low friends being some kind of allegory for rusted Chevy parts, but—plot twist—the full song is actually “Friends in Low Places,” and it’s about a bar fight. TL;DR: I’m now in therapy, and the algorithm is not safe. 🙄
