Bakersfield police arrest three suspects in connection with a series of catalytic converter thefts, recovering over fifty stolen units during a raid on an unlicensed auto repair shop. According to a statement released on Tuesday, the Bakersfield Police Department executed a search warrant at the facility following a two-month investigation into a local theft ring. The suspects, identified as two men aged 34 and 41 and a woman aged 29, face multiple charges including grand theft and possession of stolen property. The investigation began after residents reported an unusual spike in thefts in the northeastern part of Bakersfield last November. The stolen converters, valued at an estimated seventy-five thousand dollars, were found inside the shop, which was operating without a business license. Police officials confirmed that the arrests have dismantled a major supply chain for stolen materials in the region. The suspects are currently being held at the Kern County Jail awaiting arraignment.
