american airlines route suspensions result in one guy having to wait an extra 30 minutes at his in-laws' house, AITA for celebrating?
Okay, so like, major TL;DR here. American Airlines is, once again, pulling a "let's just stop existing in certain places" move. They're suspending a bunch of routes, mostly smaller cities and apparently one very specific, poorly-lit corner of an airport parking lot. Because why not? The official reason is "optimizing our network for premium demand," which is corporate-speak for "we sold your ticket to a cargo shipment of anxiety medication, good luck."
Anyway, my wife's cousin was supposed to fly out of Bumblefuck Regional (code: YIKES) to see his mom. Now he's gotta drive three hours to the nearest "real" airport. He’s been texting our family group chat about it for four hours. I replied with "skill issue" and now my mother-in-law is saying I have no empathy. AITA?
