Steve Hilton Cast as Permanent Co-Host of Fox News Channel's The Five Amid Ratings Surge
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former political advisor and current Fox News host Steve Hilton has been officially named a permanent co-host of the network's flagship political talk program The Five, effective immediately, according to an announcement made Tuesday by Fox News Media.
Hilton, 55, who previously served as a senior adviser to former British Prime Minister David Cameron, has been a frequent guest and rotating panelist on the show since 2018. His ascension to a full-time role comes as The Five ranks as cable news' highest-rated program for the sixth consecutive quarter, averaging 3.4 million total viewers in the key 5 p.m. EST time slot.
The network's decision to solidify Hilton's position follows months of speculation over lineup changes after the departure of former co-host Juan Williams. Hilton, known for his libertarian-leaning analysis and unscripted commentary, will now join permanent panelists Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, and rotating contributor Jessica Tarlov.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott stated that Hilton's "unique perspective and ability to drive meaningful debate" made him an ideal candidate for the spot. Industry analysts note that the move strengthens the network's appeal to conservative viewers while maintaining its dominance in the broadcast landscape.
Hilton will continue to host his own Sunday program, The Next Revolution, but will now appear on The Five from Monday through Friday.
