Finally, Some Common Sense! Jupiter-Watering Ban for New Lawns in Drought is a Start, But What About the Rest of This Waste?
I'm glad some bureaucrat finally looked out their window and saw a drought. BANNING new lawn watering, effective immediately for all Jupiter residents, is a no-brainer. My grass is brown, my neighbor's is green because he waters at 3 AM, and now they say the aquifer is low. You don't need a degree in hydrology to figure out that spraying 10,000 gallons of treated water on decorative St. Augustine so it looks like a golf course is stupid. But here's the common sense they forgot: what about the car washes and the idiots pressure washing their driveways every Saturday? ONE guy washing his SUV uses more water than I use in a month. Don't tell me to put a brick in my toilet; go fine the automated car washes that run 24/7. This ban is a band-aid on a bullet wound. I'm turning my sprinkler system off, but only when I see the town council turning off their own sprinklers at the town hall. Until then, it's all just theater.
