Colombia Elections chaos as streetlights replaced by disco balls — do the politicians think we’re all idiots?
People are losing their minds over the latest “improvements” in Bogotá. I just drove past the main square and saw work crews swapping out standard streetlights for glittering disco balls. When I asked a supervisor what the heck was going on, he shrugged and said it was “a pilot program for festive safety funded by the Colombia elections campaign.” Excuse me? We’ve got potholes swallowing small cars and they’re worried about ambiance? My neighbour says the mayor’s office claims it “attracts tourists,” but I call it common sense—or the total lack of it. Somebody pull the plug on this nonsense before we all start voting with our lighters.
